You’ll find it on Domain Road, just a few hundred metres from Robin Boyd’s Domain Park Flats. The genesis for the wine bar’s design came from that very building – as a kind of quiet conversation. The project started with memory. The practice had visited the flats as students during architecture history at RMIT, walking past the tall concrete tower and noting its balconies, the rhythm of its facade. Years later, KKAP returned, documenting the building and using it as a model to think through something entirely different in scale: a wine bar.
